This website can be used to calculate actual matching probabilities of capillary electrophoresis (CE) autosomal STR profiles from high-quality cosmopolitan population datasets according to these formulae. A country, continent or the entire database can be queried, limited to the allele frequency data present in STRidER. The minimum input is one locus. Commercial kits may be selected to limit the loci displayed. Loci included in commercial kits for which no high-quality population data are available are dimmed in the input form.
The query of plausible allele values leads to meaningful results, other values are not accepted or may lead to false or biased results. Details on allele nomenclature are described here.
